D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Feuerle<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sara Puig<\/strong>, Founders of The Feuerle Collection,\u00a0Christiane Arp<\/strong>, Chairwoman of the Fashion\u00a0Council Germany, and\u00a0Marcus Kurz<\/strong>, Managing Director of Nowadays, cordially invite you to\u00a0the exhibition \u201cKAREN JESSEN\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0The Feuerle Collection Silk Room,\u00a0curated by D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Feuerle, on the occasion of the\u00a0Berlin Fashion Week, in\u00a0cooperation with\u00a0Der Berliner Salon,\u00a0Fashion Council of Germany\u00a0and\u00a0Nowadays.<\/p>\n

Karen Jessen\u2019s collection will be\u00a0exhibited until February 14th.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Nordfriesland,\u00a0Karen Jessen<\/strong>, a textile artist and designer, established her label in the year 2012 in Berlin. She is\u00a0recognized as an early pioneer of upcycling, and her focus lies in the dedicated development of reused materials for\u00a0artistic creations. Her inspiration derives from the beauty of artistic craftsmanship, harmonious forms, and compositions.
\nKaren\u2019s artistic endeavors center around preserving and reinterpreting forgotten treasures, driven by an unrelenting\u00a0passion and dedication. She questions the prevailing structures of the fashion industry and offers a rebellious alternative,\u00a0far removed from the dictations of seasons and the banality of fashion consumer products. Her creations represent\u00a0clothing with intrinsic value and identity, extraordinary products with an unmistakable personal touch.<\/p>\n

Her early childhood passion for craftsmanship, rooted in her family background, is a driving force behind her creative\u00a0journey. Growing up in a family that valued and practiced traditional craftsmanship instilled in her a deep appreciation for\u00a0handmade artistry.
\nKaren Jessen\u2019s approach to creation is a contrast, combining a very manual methodology with the creation of an illusion\u00a0of digitally crafted artworks. She passionately collects, sorts, and combines used materials and creates through\u00a0experimentation, engaging in an extensive process of material development in dialogue with the body. Her creative\u00a0spectrum spans fashion, costume, sculpture, and decoration, all crafted with meticulous care. Her abstract works inhabit\u00a0the space between sculpture and wearable art.<\/p>\n

Since 2021, The Feuerle Collection supports the young Berlin fashion scene, collaborating with the Berlin Fashion Week,\u00a0Der Berliner Salon and the Fashion Council of Germany, offering the space of The Feuerle Collection as an\u00a0interdisciplinary ground for the discourse around the future of the fashion industry, its evolving creative language, and the\u00a0growing focus on sustainability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
